This handmade ceramic tea set was made with high quality natural clay (called old rock clay) in Dehua county, and finished with gilt rust glaze. Due to the high iron oxide content in the glaze, after firing at the high temperature (1310 Celsius), the surface of the teapot has rust color & look. While for the tea set design, it is using Lotus Pond theme, as you can see that the tea cups just like lotus flowers are blooming in Lotus pond (the tea tray), and for the teapot, it is a hand grab teapot, using lotus leave design for the teapot lid & body, and lotus seed design around the bottom of the teapot.
