This beautiful Red Glazed Gaiwan was handmade in porcelain county Jingdezhen, the features of this Gaiwan is the beautiful red glaze on the outer surface and the crackles patterns in interior surface after several times of brewing. It was made under the transmutation glaze 'Yao Bian' technique. This technique involves changing the temperature of the kiln during firing, in order to adjust the rate at which glaze slowly drips down the sides and create a color gradient effect from top to bottom, it requires a high level of ceramic craftsmanship. Additionally, there are also other factors that can influence the glaze color change in firing products, for example different textures and shapes of wares and thickness of glaze. So each piece of Yaobian teapot is unique and different. After the high firing process 1310 Celsius, this Gaiwan is food safe. And the glaze we used for our tea wares are free of lead and cadmium.
