Dehua county is a town in Fujian province along China's southeast coast and is very famous for the high quality white porcelains, 'Blanc de Chine', or 'white from China', is the name given to white porcelains made in Dehua. The color of the porcelain is more like ‘ivory white’ and ‘milk white’ due to the very small amount of iron oxide in the local kaolin clay.

These hand painted white porcelain canisters were made with high quality natural Kaolin clay in Dehua county, then hand painted and glazed by local artist before firing at a high temperature of 1330 Celsius.
