The Gong Dao Bei (fairness cup) is a pitcher for serving tea so that everyone receives an equal strength brew in traditional Chinese tea ceremony. If you were to serve direct from a teapot or Gaiwan, the first cup would get a weaker brew than the last cup. The Gong Dao Bei allows you to strain the tea from the teapot or Gaiwan into the pitcher to even out the brew so that everyone gets to taste the same tea.
This beautiful ceramic fairness cup is a handmade piece, it is from the stoneware tea set ‘Clumsy’ series, all the tea wares in this series are hand thrown with high quality natural rock clay by experienced craftsman and the glaze applied by hand brush before the firing process under the high temperature of 1310 Celsius. This series tea wares has been designed to be rustic and sturdy, yet good in quality.
